About the Speaker

Simon Heeke, PhD

Assistant Professor, University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center

Simon Heeke, PhD received Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Molecular Medicine from the Medical University of Innsbruck, Austria, before completing his PhD at the University Côte d'Azur in Nice, France. In 2020, he became a Postdoctoral Fellow in the laboratory of John V. Heymach in the Department of Thoracic H&N Medical Oncology at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, where he develops innovative biomarkers in lung cancer with a focus on small-cell lung cancer and liquid biopsies. He serves as the current chair of the young committee at the International Society for Liquid Biopsy.
